When Simon laid the foundations of ERConsult in 2012, the mission was simple: make expert quantity surveying, contract administration, and dispute resolution accessible to businesses of all sizes—not just those able to absorb the cost of full-time hires.
Having seen firsthand the impact these skills can have, Simon built ERConsult on a different approach—commercially collaborative, technically sharp, and focused on outcomes, not conflict. That principle still drives everything we do today.

Simon holds a Master of Laws (LLM) and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). In a sector where most commercial advisors come from one direction — either contractual or commercial — Simon operates across both. That dual focus is what makes the difference when the pressure is on.
With over 30 years working at commercial and contracts director level in construction, Simon has seen virtually every way a project can go wrong (and right). Contracts and commercials not aligned, lawyers going in one direction and estimators in another, Notices missed under pressure. Variations that disappear into the final account. Cash that should have been recovered, written off instead. He has spent his career making sure that doesn't happen to the businesses he works with.
Before founding ERConsult, Simon negotiated contracts around the world, with some of them worth over $75 million. He also led loss and expense claims exceeding €12 million, and closed out final accounts — 95% of them without escalation.
None of that comes from being the loudest voice in the room. It comes from preparation, from knowing the contract inside out, and from understanding what the other side needs in order to move.

She operates as the Administration Manager, where she specialises in turning busy, complex offices into calm, well‑run operations that quietly deliver results every day. Drawing on extensive experience in administrative leadership, Claire designs and maintains the systems that keep the organisation running smoothly, from document control and data management to team workflows and client communication.
With a sharp eye for detail and a practical, no‑nonsense approach, Claire focuses on operational efficiency at every level. She streamlines processes, reduces duplication, and introduces clear, user‑friendly procedures so that people can spend less time fighting admin and more time creating value. Colleagues trust her to anticipate issues before they become problems and to implement solutions that are robust, compliant, and easy to follow.
